Free Admission at Geumnarae Gallery Until October 12... New Perspectives of Geumcheon Captured by Youth Photographers
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the exhibition “Click Click! Neighborhood Geumcheon Captured by Youth, I am also a Photographer!” at the Geumnarae Gallery until October 12.
Youth participated in the program “Click Click! Neighborhood Geumcheon Captured by Youth,” recording the appearance of Geumcheon-gu through photography and fostering a sense of belonging as members of the local community.
The participating youth received training from photography experts from March to September after being selected in March, capturing various scenes of Geumcheon-gu through their own unique perspectives.
At the exhibition, the youth become “photographers” and present works that capture various places in Geumcheon-gu, which they had previously overlooked in their daily lives, from a new perspective. Visitors can appreciate the diverse views of Geumcheon-gu captured through the unique eyes of the youth.
The exhibition is free for all Geumcheon-gu residents to visit, and photographs taken by the youth can be viewed at the Geumnarae Gallery until October 12. A special exhibition space featuring video art (media art) documenting the preparation process of the exhibition is also set up.
The operating hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery will be closed on October 9 for Hangul Day, and on the last day, October 12, it will operate only until 4 p.m.
In particular, on October 12, a booth where youth “photographers” will explain photography will be set up at the Geumcheon-gu Youth Union Festival “Inside Youth.” Visitors will also have the opportunity to create their own photo goods there.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “This exhibition is meaningful as it allows us to appreciate Geumcheon-gu through the eyes of youth,” adding, “We will continue to support youth so they can grow through creative activities.”
Meanwhile, the program was selected as a resident participation budget project this year and is hosted by the Geumcheon Youth Cultural Center (Director Yang Seong-sik).
For more information, inquiries can be made to the Geumcheon Youth Cultural Center, Kakao Channel, or the Geumcheon-gu Office Department of Children and Youth.
