Gyeonggi-do Launches Support Project for Transition to Old Age for People with Developmental Disabilities Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will launch the ‘Developmental Disabilities Elderly Transition Support Project’ for health management and other services starting from the 7th.

The Developmental Disabilities Elderly Transition Support Project aims to help people with developmental disabilities live independently in the community even without a guardian.

Gyeonggi Province will create individual groups consisting of people with developmental disabilities, social workers, local residents, acquaintances, and volunteers, and provide various programs through these groups.

Last month, four programs were selected through a public contest, and the programs will be conducted from the 7th targeting 30 middle-aged and elderly people with developmental disabilities.

Seo Bong-ja, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Disability Independence Support Division, stated, "Through this program, we expect to improve the quality of life by supporting people with developmental disabilities to live healthily and happily in their elderly years, and to establish a foundation for independent living within the community."
