Mapo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Gang-su) will conduct a hygiene service evaluation targeting public hygiene businesses such as lodging, bathhouses, and laundries within the district until the end of October.

This evaluation is part of efforts to improve the hygiene management level and enhance the quality of service at the 2,346 public hygiene businesses in Mapo-gu.

Following the evaluation of 1,615 beauty salons in 2023, this year the district will evaluate 208 businesses, including 51 lodging establishments, 20 bathhouses, and 137 laundries.

The evaluation is conducted by teams of two?comprising a public official and an honorary public hygiene inspector?who visit each business and assess them through questions and observations based on an evaluation checklist.

The main evaluation items are divided into compliance with legal standards and recommended measures for improving hygiene levels, including customer safety, facility management, and service quality.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “Mapo-gu has consistently worked to create a hygienic environment through various methods such as voluntary hygiene inspections and joint public-private cross-checks to raise the hygiene standards of public hygiene businesses used by many residents. We will continue to do our best to create an environment where residents can use these facilities with peace of mind through ongoing management.”
