UK Myce Specialist Magazine Selects Seoul as 'Destination of the Month'... "First in Asia"

The Korea Tourism Organization's London office announced on the 6th that Seoul was selected as the 'Destination of the Month' for October by the UK's leading MICE magazine M&IT (Meetings & Incentive Travel) on the 2nd.

M&IT, established in 1985, is the oldest MICE magazine in the UK, with an annual circulation of 25,000 copies, making it the most widely subscribed publication among MICE professionals in the UK. Since 2022, it has been introducing regions attracting industry attention as the 'Destination of the Month' every month, and this is the first time an Asian region has been selected.

The October issue of M&IT features detailed coverage of Seoul's MICE infrastructure, MICE venues, incentive tourism, and local attractions, highlighting Seoul's MICE competitiveness.

Paul Harvey, editor of M&IT, explained the reason for the selection: "Seoul is a vibrant city suitable for international conferences and events, with attractive local culture and competitive MICE infrastructure that captivate the UK MICE industry. As Korea and Seoul's status as MICE hosting destinations rise, the industry has shown great interest, leading to Seoul's selection as the 'Destination of the Month' for October."

Kim Kyung-joo, head of the Korea Tourism Organization's London office, said, "This selection will serve as an opportunity to strengthen Korea's position as a MICE event destination in the UK. The Korea Tourism Organization will continue to expand promotional marketing so that Korea can maintain an advantage over competing countries as a leading MICE hub."
