President Yoon’s first schedule was to lay a wreath at the Korean War veterans memorial. In the evening, he will hold a dinner meeting with local Korean residents. On the second day, the 7th, the schedule includes an official welcoming ceremony, a Korea-Philippines summit meeting, an MOU signing ceremony, and a joint press conference.

This state visit by our president to the Philippines is the first in about 13 years since President Lee Myung-bak in November 2011. This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Philippines, and both countries plan to use this opportunity to elevate their cooperation to a new level.

President Yoon plans to actively conduct sales diplomacy in the Philippines by expanding trade and investment cooperation and supporting Korean companies in securing large-scale infrastructure projects.

He will also discuss ways to broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation into future-oriented fields such as supply chains, energy, defense, and maritime sectors.
