Kim Jong Un "Efforts to Develop Relations" Xi Jinping "Strengthen Strategic Communication"
Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, and Xi Jinping, President of China, exchanged congratulatory messages on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between North Korea and China on the 6th.
North Korea's Korean Central News Agency and China's Xinhua News Agency reported that in the congratulatory message sent by Chairman Kim to President Xi on that day, he stated, "Our Party and the government of the Republic will continue to strive to consolidate and develop the friendly cooperative relations between North Korea and China in accordance with the demands of the new era."
Chairman Kim emphasized, "Inheriting and developing the long-standing friendship between North Korea and China, which has a long history and excellent tradition, without change, is in line with the fundamental interests of both countries."
He said, "Seventy-five years ago from now, with the establishment of official diplomatic relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China, the friendly relations between North Korea and China entered a new historical stage of development," adding, "Over the past 75 years, the two Parties and the two countries have firmly held the conviction in the legitimacy of their cause and have vigorously advanced along the path of socialism, overcoming all trials and challenges of history."
He continued, "I hope that the Chinese people will continuously achieve new accomplishments on the journey to comprehensively build a socialist modernized country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core," offering his good wishes.
President Xi also sent a congratulatory message to Chairman Kim to celebrate the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, President Xi stated, "I highly value the development of China-North Korea relations," and added, "In recent years, I have held several meetings with General Secretary Kim Jong Un and maintained close communication through letters and telegrams, jointly leading and promoting the deepening and development of China-North Korea relations."
He said, "The traditional friendship between China and North Korea has become a precious asset shared by both countries and their peoples through the tests of changing times and international changes," and added, "In the new era and under new circumstances, China is willing to strengthen strategic communication and cooperation with North Korea and deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries."
Previously, Chairman Kim and President Xi exchanged congratulatory messages on the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2019.
