9 out of 10 Students Apply Through School Records Screening for Regional Medical Schools Early Admission
In the 2025 academic year medical school early admission, about 9 out of 10 students who applied to regional medical schools applied through the student record screening process.
On the 6th, Jongno Academy analyzed the early admission application status by screening category for the 2025 medical school admissions and found that among the students who applied to 27 regional medical schools, 89.1% (29,719 students) applied through the student record screening process.
The student record screening process is divided into the curriculum screening and comprehensive screening.
Among the applicants, 18,815 students applied through the curriculum screening, which primarily considers high school academic grades (internal grades), and 10,904 students applied through the comprehensive screening, which includes high school academic grades along with creative experiential activities. Compared to last year, these numbers increased by 2 times and 1.4 times respectively.
Jongno Academy explained, "It is analyzed that a significant number of top students from general high schools, specialized high schools, and autonomous private high schools also applied through the student record comprehensive screening due to the increase in medical school quotas next year."
Since there are many cases of overlapping admissions in both the curriculum and comprehensive student record screenings, it is analyzed that the number of multiple admissions may increase compared to last year.
Lim Seong-ho, CEO of Jongno Academy, said, "If students with excellent school internal grades only meet the minimum CSAT requirements, the number of students admitted to multiple universities could increase significantly compared to last year."
