Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Celebrates Pregnant Women's Day for Happy Pregnancy and Childbirth

Grand Prize in Contest: "So Happy Like This, Honey Shall We Have One More?" Slogan Selected

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the event commemorating Pregnant Women’s Day held on the morning of the 5th at Hanmaeum Square on the 2nd floor of Mapo-gu Office and the Flower Path at the Sunlight Center on the 2nd floor of Mapo-gu Public Health Center, brightening the occasion.

This event was organized to support healthy and safe childbirth for pregnant women and to promote a culture of consideration for them in response to the low birthrate era.

On this day, 200 local residents, including 50 couples of pregnant women residing in Mapo-gu, participated to celebrate and enjoy Pregnant Women’s Day together.

The district prepared various programs to help the health and emotional stability of pregnant women, providing a meaningful time for attendees.

The event began with a prenatal music concert offering a comfortable time for pregnant women and their families, followed by a special lecture for pregnant women by Dr. Jeong Woo-yeol, a psychiatrist.

Additionally, various side events were held, including medication counseling for pregnant women, infant CPR training, and a calligraphy experience decorating baby jackets.

In particular, the winning works of the childbirth encouragement slogan and photo contest were exhibited at the event venue, attracting many visitors with pieces capturing family happiness. The grand prize of this contest was awarded to the slogan “We’re this happy, honey, shall we have one more?” which received great acclaim as a message expressing family love and joy.

Mayor Park Gang-su stated, “We will create various infrastructures such as the Sunlight Center, Babysitter House, and offline mom cafes to ensure that pregnant women can experience pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting in a safe and healthy environment. Since pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting are never easy processes, Mapo-gu will carefully attend to and strive to pave only flower paths for you.”
