YouTube Comeback Plan: "Releasing Previously Filmed Videos First"
Mukbang YouTuber Jjuyang (real name Park Jung-won), who was extorted and threatened by cyber wreckers, has returned to YouTube broadcasting after more than three months.
Jjuyang, who has 10.8 million subscribers, went live on the night of the 4th under the title "Greeting you after a long time" and communicated with her subscribers. She bowed her head and said, "It's been three months. While broadcasting after a long time, I wanted to first express my gratitude. I spent a lot of time reflecting on myself during these three months. I read many comments and heard a lot of encouraging words from those around me. It really gave me great strength."
During that time, Jjuyang was extorted of tens of millions of won by cyber wreckers who threatened to spread rumors about her private life based on tips they received. Regarding this, she said, "I thought this might happen someday. If it did, I felt like I wouldn't be able to live and would never be able to broadcast again." She continued, "However, contrary to my expectations, many good people around me supported me, so I endured much better than I thought," expressing her gratitude repeatedly. She added, "There are many things I regret and parts where I wonder how I endured, but you can't change what has already happened. The past is all behind us. I thought I should just live harder from now on."
She also shared her recent condition. "I lost some weight but have gained it back. I dropped to 44 kg but now I'm back to 47 kg. I'm healthy," she said. Regarding the cyber wrecker case, she said, "You might be wondering if the case has been resolved, but it is still ongoing, and I am very grateful that the police are conducting the investigation well."
About her YouTube comeback plans, she said, "Given the current situation, it seems a bit difficult to do outdoor broadcasts in Korea for the time being. I think I will do one or two live 'mukbang' sessions to communicate with subscribers. After that, I will upload videos I filmed three months ago and then plan to shoot abroad. After that, I intend to continue my YouTube broadcasts as usual."
In July, Jjuyang shocked many by revealing that she had been exploited for a long time by her former boyfriend A, who was also the CEO of her agency, including four years of assault and extortion of 4 billion won. Cyber wrecker YouTubers Karakula, Jujak Gambyeolsa, and Choi, who was A's lawyer, were prosecuted on charges of extorting money by threatening to expose Jjuyang's sensitive personal history.
