Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 4th that it will hold the Deokjeong Urban Regeneration Village Festival, "2024 Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival," on the 19th in the Deokjeong Starlight Street area in front of Deokjeong Station.

This festival, held for the third time this year, is part of the Deokjeong Urban Regeneration Project. It was planned to revitalize the local commercial district and establish and nurture a sustainable festival model. A festival committee composed of local residents was formed to organize this resident-participatory urban regeneration village festival.

The festival, which will take place from 2 PM to 9 PM on the 19th in the Deokjeong Starlight Street area next to Deokjeong Station, will feature ▲ main stage performances by local organizations and invited singers ▲ a food market operated directly by Deokjeong local merchants ▲ interesting and exciting experiences for children and families ▲ various events for tourists visiting the festival, such as a starlight photo zone and treasure hunt.

In particular, the "Deokjeong Commercial Hub Community Center," which is being used as a resident hub facility for the Deokjeong Urban Regeneration Project, will have the Deokjeong Village Management Social Cooperative operating a village cafe and a Wagle Wagle Creative Playground for children. They plan to provide programs for visitors to the festival site and join forces to hold a diverse festival.

Kang Su-hyun, mayor of Yangju City, said, "I sincerely congratulate the holding of the Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival, now in its third year, and will spare no support to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival." He added, "I hope it will become a representative village festival of the region, and I ask for the active participation and interest of local residents for the successful hosting of the festival."
