[Breaking] Prosecution Requests Pre-Arrest Warrants for Gu Young-bae, Ryu Kwang-jin, and Ryu Hwa-hyun in 'T-Mef Incident'

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office TMON and WEMAKEPRICE Incident Special Investigation Team (led by Lee Joon-dong, Head of the Anti-Corruption Division 1) filed pre-arrest warrants on the 4th against Koo Young-bae, CEO of Quten Group, Ryu Kwang-jin, CEO of TMON, and Ryu Hwa-hyun, CEO of WEMAKEPRICE, in relation to the unsettled payment incident involving TMON and WEMAKEPRICE.

The prosecution stated that the three individuals are suspected of embezzling settlement payments related to goods sales amounting to approximately 1.595 trillion KRW, breach of trust involving a total of 69.2 billion KRW of TMON and WEMAKEPRICE funds through preferential treatment of affiliated companies, and embezzlement of a total of 67.1 billion KRW of TMON and WEMAKEPRICE funds used for acquiring a U.S. e-commerce company, among other charges (fraud, embezzlement, and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes). Considering the seriousness of the case, the possibility of evidence destruction, and the risk of flight, pre-arrest warrants were filed against each of them.
