Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it will conduct a customized health program starting from the 27th to improve the self-health management abilities of senior citizens.

This training will be conducted face-to-face for seniors participating in the city's AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things)-based senior health management project. Since 2020, the city has been providing health management services to seniors aged 65 and older using Bluetooth health devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, scales, blood pressure and blood glucose monitors, and AI speakers.

The training will be held at Dongtan Public Health Center in a total of eight face-to-face sessions, recruiting 30 seniors who wish to participate from among the health service project beneficiaries.

The health center plans to conduct body composition tests, blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol tests at the start and end of the program for pre- and post-evaluation, managing the improvement level of participants' health abilities through objective indicators.

The training will be provided by professional trainers, nutritionists, and nurses, covering topics such as daily exercise, strength training, nutritional status assessment, and dietary therapy. Educational materials will also be provided through a KakaoTalk channel to enable continuous self-management at home.

Gong Junsik, director of Dongtan Public Health Center, said, "We hope this customized health program will help seniors maintain continuous self-health management," adding, "We plan to continue offering various programs to improve the quality of life for seniors in the ultra-aged society and single-person households."
