Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 4th that it will conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for Yangju citizens a total of four times from the 15th to the 31st.
Following the first half of the year training mainly targeting legally mandated trainees and automated external defibrillator (AED) managers, the second half training will be conducted for the general public to strengthen interest and response to the importance of CPR.
According to the city, the training will be held for about 150 people at the Yangju City Hall main conference room and the Yangju Mental Health Welfare Center.
The main training contents focus on practical exercises including recognizing cardiac arrest in emergency situations, how to report to 119, airway obstruction treatment methods, correct CPR posture and techniques, CPR practice, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), emphasizing securing the golden time and improving citizens' survival rates in emergencies.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, “I believe this training will provide an opportunity to protect the lives of precious family members and neighbors through calm and prompt CPR when faced with emergencies such as cardiac arrest in daily life,” and added, “Yangju City will do its best for citizens' health and safety through annual emergency rescue and CPR training.”
