CFO Lee Yang-gi of TVING Attends International OTT Festival
Collaboration Announced with Various Media Including tvN and CGV
"Film Version Prequel in Production, Series to Follow"
Tving, the leading domestic online video service (OTT) provider, is exploring various ways to showcase its content not only on smart devices but also in movie theaters and on TV. This year’s professional baseball postseason will also be presented in movie theaters, including CGV.
On the 4th, Lee Yang-gi, Tving’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), announced this at the 'International OTT Summit' held at the Paradise Hotel Busan during the opening of the International OTT Festival.
CFO Lee stated, "We will continue to transcend the limitations of OTT and seek differentiated methods and new formats unique to Tving." He referred to past cases where dramas such as 'Unsu Ojin Nal' and 'Mombak' were released in theaters to reach audiences. He added, "We will utilize a multi-platform strategy that spans OTT, TV, and movie theaters," and said, "I believe this is the best way to enhance the value of the works."
For example, producing a movie version as a prequel and then creating the next series as an OTT drama is expected to increase the overall value of the work. He also mentioned plans to showcase various collaborations, including co-productions with tvN.
He revealed plans to live broadcast the KBO professional baseball Korean Series postseason games starting this month at CGV theaters. Tving has secured broadcasting rights for professional baseball for three years starting this year.

CFO Lee introduced representative Tving original series to be released next year, including 'Running Mate,' 'Dear X,' and 'Chunhwa Yeonaedam.'
As of the end of August this year, compared to the end of last year, the proportion of male viewers on Tving increased from 35% to 40%, and viewers outside the main target group of ages 20 to 39 rose from 34% to 42% during the same period.
He evaluated, "The newly attempted female narrative historical drama 'Ussi Wanghu' has received a successful response," and added, "New genre content has attracted customers from various demographics."
Additionally, 35 Tving original works have been broadcast in 240 countries so far, and there are plans to actively expand into the global market. CFO Lee said, "As demand for K-content increases in the global market, we are receiving many love calls," and added, "We will actively expand globally, focusing on regions where K-content is making an impact."
