The Bank of Korea announced on the 6th that it will sell the first connected 50,000 won banknotes this month.
To meet the public's demand for currency collecting, the Bank of Korea issues various types of connected banknotes. The connected 50,000 won banknotes, consisting of two connected notes, will be sold for the first time this month.
Sets numbered from 1 to 100 will be exhibited at the Bank of Korea Currency Museum, and sets from 101 to 900 will be auctioned to the public, considering the high demand for lower serial numbers.
The auction will be held in two sessions at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the 15th through the Pungsan Hwadongyanghaeng Co., Ltd. website. The pre-bidding period is from the 10th to the 14th.
Purchase reservations will be accepted from the 16th to the 25th through the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation's online shopping mall.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to charity funds for helping neighbors.
