Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 4th that they signed a "Business Agreement for the Creation and Expansion of an Eco-Friendly Delivery Culture Based on Electric Two-Wheelers" with representatives from Woohan Cheongnyeon and Kuru, among three companies.

Kuru is an in-house independent company (CIC) of LG Energy Solution that installs and operates Battery Swap Stations (BSS) where depleted batteries of electric two-wheelers can be charged and fully charged batteries can be exchanged and used.

Through this agreement, the three companies will cooperate to build infrastructure for electric two-wheelers to expand the eco-friendly delivery culture and plan to utilize delivery data to improve the efficiency of BSS. They also plan to actively engage in activities such as raising consumer awareness.

Woowa Brothers and Woohan Cheongnyeon will first carry out campaigns to raise awareness of eco-friendly delivery and promote policies targeting Baemin users. They also agreed to cooperate so that Kuru can efficiently install and operate BSS using delivery data. In addition, they plan to measure the eco-friendly outcomes resulting from the use of electric two-wheelers.

Kuru will work on infrastructure construction to spread electric two-wheelers. Currently, there are about 400 BSS installed in the metropolitan area, and they plan to expand by more than 40 stations within the year. Riders who purchase or rent electric two-wheelers with compatible batteries will also receive benefits such as discounts.

Kim Jung-hyun, Head of Value Management at Woowa Brothers, said, “We hope this agreement for expanding the distribution of electric two-wheelers will be the cornerstone for spreading an eco-friendly delivery culture,” adding, “Baedal Minjok will continue efforts to carry out eco-friendly activities through delivery services together with all service stakeholders including customers, restaurant owners, and riders.”
