Allegation of Trespassing in a Jointly Owned Building
Members of the Korean University Students Progressive Union (Daejin-yeon), who shouted slogans such as "Special Prosecutor for Kim Geon-hee," attempting to enter the Presidential Office, were arrested by the police.
On the 4th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested four Daejin-yeon members on the spot for trespassing on a jointly owned building after attempting to enter the Presidential Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
They are accused of gathering in front of the Yongsan Presidential Office around 11:30 a.m. that day, shouting slogans such as "Special Prosecutor for Kim Geon-hee" and "Stop the veto against the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor," and attempting to enter the Presidential Office through the back gate of the former Ministry of National Defense.
The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances and reasons for the incident. Previously, in January, Daejin-yeon also attempted to enter the Presidential Office while shouting slogans such as "Special Prosecutor for Kim Geon-hee," and the police arrested 20 Daejin-yeon members on the spot.
At that time, the police applied for arrest warrants for 16 people, and the prosecution requested arrest warrants for 10 of them, but the court dismissed all, stating that "they did not plan or carry out collective violent acts."
