On the 2nd, an online community Nate Pann posted a thread titled "Busan Bus Child and Elderly Assault Incident." According to the poster, A, who introduced herself as a mother of two children, the incident occurred on a bus where A's mother-in-law was taking her grandchild to kindergarten. Around 8:20 a.m. that day, B, the mother-in-law, boarded Bus No. 77 in Busan to take her grandchild to school. B sat in a two-person seat holding the child, and next to her sat a woman in her 20s, C.

A stated, "While my mother-in-law was carefully wrapping the child's legs and lifting him again, her arm accidentally touched the woman. At that moment, without any time to defend, the woman punched the child's face. The assault did not stop at one hit; she repeatedly struck with her palm." She continued, "The child started bleeding from both nostrils, and reflexively, my mother-in-law tried to shield the child's face with both arms, but the woman grabbed the blocking arm with one hand and bit it." The bus stopped amid the commotion, and surrounding passengers intervened and called the police. Afterwards, C was handed over to the local police station, and A's family gave statements and left.

A said, "Who would have imagined that a young woman would assault not only a child but also an elderly person present there? Now, to assault a 3-year-old child born in 2020 and a grandmother born in 1957... Even if she felt uncomfortable, she did it indiscriminately without saying a single word. I am so angry that my hands tremble, and I feel deeply sorry for the two people who must have been terrified." She added, "My mother-in-law tearfully expressed her gratitude, saying that if a female passenger had not actively intervened and helped until the end, a bigger accident would have happened. I don’t know if she will see this, but I sincerely thank her. Those who reported and those who helped us are all our family’s saviors," she said.

The perpetrator, C, reportedly showed no remorse and claimed to have "anger management disorder." A said, "She claimed that the child was restless from her perspective and that she has anger management disorder, but she did not apologize even once. I cannot understand it, but even so, is assaulting a child and an elderly person a justifiable reason? It makes me so angry that she is trying to escape responsibility with that excuse." A expressed her fury, saying, "I am beyond angry and at a loss for words. The grandmother, who could not even respond while protecting the child from the perpetrator, is already devastated. We will not let this go and will make sure she receives the appropriate punishment," she concluded.

Netizens who read the story responded with outrage, saying things like, "Go to jail and learn to control your anger," "Selective anger management disorder, I see," "Would she have done this even if a strong man was next to her?" "If she didn’t like the child being restless, she could have just moved seats," "I hope there is no leniency," "She’s like a walking time bomb," "She must be sentenced to prison," and "I’m so angry thinking about my own child and grandmother."
