The furniture industry is gaining momentum ahead of the move-in at Olympic Park Foreon next month, which is the largest single-scale complex since the era of Dangun. Companies are actively participating in move-in expos and offering interior consultation services to capture the hearts of over 12,000 residents.

According to the furniture industry on the 4th, Hanssem, Shinsegae Casa, Simmons, and Sono Season are participating in the Olympic Park Foreon move-in expo held at SETEC in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from the 4th to the 6th.

In particular, Hanssem is putting great effort into Olympic Park Foreon, even organizing the move-in expo. Hanssem’s booth is staffed with home styling experts who provide customized move-in consultation services using the 3D consultation design program ‘Home Planner.’ Hanssem has created a 3D apartment blueprint database for Olympic Park Foreon, covering sizes of 39㎡, 59㎡, and 84㎡. They plan to show furniture arrangements for each space such as bedrooms, living rooms, studies, home cafes, and dressing rooms by creating the living space in 3D.

Shinsegae Casa operates exclusive products for Olympic Park Foreon residents under its main brands ‘Casamia’ and ‘Materasso.’ From May to August, they analyzed consultation and purchase data from Olympic Park Foreon customers at Casamia stores in Jamsil, Gildong Intersection, and Apgujeong to select the most popular products. They also provide virtual reality (VR) specialized consultation services by apartment size. Shinsegae Casa also operated a booth at the expo hosted by the prospective residents’ council held at Lotte World Ice Rink in Songpa-gu, Seoul, from the 27th to 29th of last month, attracting over 4,000 households in three days and achieving 200% of their sales target. A Shinsegae Casa representative explained, “The bestsellers ‘Campo’ sofa, ‘Pomelo’ dining set, and ‘New Museo’ dressing room were especially popular.”

Simmons is focusing on selling new products featuring vanadium pocket springs, introduced at the ‘Beautyrest 100th Anniversary Launch Press Conference’ last month. Sono Season offers a service where consultation staff recommend customized mattresses based on pressure analysis tests. Ace Bed, which participated in the Lotte World move-in expo, set up a booth with popular products ranging from super single frames for single-person households and children to large-sized double beds and Stressless single recliners.

Additionally, each company is competing to offer extra purchase benefits for Olympic Park Foreon residents, such as special discounts, discounts on set purchases, additional points, and first-come-first-served gifts.

An industry insider said, “Since furniture purchases and interior settings are done simultaneously at move-in, the Olympic Park Foreon move-in is a boon for the furniture industry, which had been sluggish due to the recent downturn in the construction market,” adding, “With a mini new town-scale complex of 12,032 households moving in, companies have high expectations to attract demand.”
