Inspection of Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities in Apartment Underground Parking
Fire Extinguisher and Fire Alarm Inspection and Emergency Response Guidelines in Case of Fire
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on October 2 that it conducted a fire safety inspection at Lotte Castle Gold Park 1st Apartment in cooperation with Geumcheon Fire Station.
This inspection was carried out to check the fire safety facilities of electric vehicle charging stations installed in the underground parking lot, aiming to prevent fire risks due to the increasing supply of electric vehicles and to ensure the safety of residents.
The district office and Geumcheon Fire Station thoroughly inspected the electrical safety of the electric vehicle charging stations in the underground parking lot, the operation status of fire extinguishers and fire alarms, and the condition of evacuation routes.
Additionally, they provided fire accident prevention education related to electric vehicle charging and guided residents on safe evacuation procedures.
Starting with this safety inspection, the district office and Geumcheon Fire Station plan to strengthen safety inspections of all fire facilities in multi-family housing in Geumcheon-gu and continue various efforts to promote residents' safety.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “As the use of electric vehicles increases, the safety management of charging facilities has become more important. We will work closely with Geumcheon Fire Station to ensure thorough fire prevention through regular inspections and education.”
The district is operating the ‘Integrated Fire Prevention Control System for Electric Vehicles’ at 14 public parking lots, the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts, to monitor temperature changes of electric vehicles in real time 24 hours a day, and is making efforts to prepare for electric vehicle fires by installing ‘smothering fire blankets’ and more.
