The Government Steps Up... National Institute for Korean Medicine Development Launches "Specialized Workforce Training Program for Korean Medicine Industry Sectors"

Open to All Interested in Korean Medicine

The Industrial Growth Support Center of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development is launching the "2024 Third Specialized Workforce Training Program for Korean Medicine Industry Sectors" in response to the rapid increase in global demand for traditional medicine and complementary and alternative medicine, driven by worldwide population aging.

The training program consists of a total of six courses: ▲Herbal Medicine Materials ▲Preparation and Manufacturing ▲Applied Industry ▲Service Industry ▲Startups ▲Fundamental Theories of Korean Medicine.


First, the "Herbal Medicine Materials Course" covers practical topics for those involved in the production, processing, and distribution of herbal medicines, including guidance on the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) system for Korean medicine manufacturing facilities.


Second, the "Preparation and Manufacturing Course" provides valuable information on the medical device approval system and clinical trial methodologies.


Third, the "Applied Industry Course" addresses case studies in the development of applied Korean medicine products, while the "Service Industry Course" focuses on the understanding and claims process for indemnity health insurance in Korean medicine.


Fourth, the "Startups Course" introduces major government support programs and successful startup cases for entrepreneurs in the Korean medicine field. The "Fundamental Theories of Korean Medicine Course" offers lectures on the modern understanding of Korean medicine, as well as on materia medica and prescription science for the general public.


This training program runs from October 1 to November 30, 2024, and is open to anyone interested in Korean medicine, including those working in the industry. Participants can take the courses for free at their convenience through the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development website.


Park Taesoon, Head of the Industrial Growth Support Center, stated, "As global demand for traditional medicine continues to rise, it is urgent to foster experts and advance technology in the Korean medicine industry." He added, "We expect that providing information necessary for the operation and technological development of the Korean medicine industry will greatly contribute to enhancing the industry's competitiveness and expertise in the mid- to long-term."
