A story has emerged about a woman who, upon discovering her late husband's affair, belatedly sought revenge against the other woman involved.
On the 30th of last month, Channel A's "Detectives' Trade Secrets" featured a revenge drama involving Ms. A and her daughter targeting the other woman. According to the broadcast, Ms. A, the informant, recently found her late husband's second phone while sorting through his belongings after he passed away from stomach cancer. The second phone contained evidence of her husband's affair with a junior colleague from work.
After learning of the affair, Ms. A immediately confronted the junior colleague to confirm the infidelity. The junior colleague apologized, saying, "It was all over a long time ago. It was really just a brief thing," but also shamelessly added, "Three years ago, you sent me a text saying 'I know everything, so break up,' didn't you? Lawsuits against the other woman are only possible within three years of recognizing the relationship." She then threatened, "If you come looking for me again, I will sue you for defamation."
Ms. A, who had never sent such a text to the other woman, was puzzled and visited a detective agency. As a result, she discovered that it was her daughter who had sent the text messages to Ms. B from her phone. Later, her daughter confessed, "When I was in the second year of middle school, I found out about Dad's affair, but due to threats and persuasion from the other woman and Dad, I couldn't tell the truth."
With proof of when she became aware of the affair, Ms. A promptly filed a damages lawsuit against the other woman. The other woman, who was about to get married, eventually offered Ms. A a settlement of 50 million won and requested the lawsuit be withdrawn, which Ms. A accepted, leading to the case's dismissal.
However, the revenge did not end there. Upon hearing about the other woman's wedding, Ms. A's daughter appeared at the wedding venue, setting up a wreath labeled "The Bride Who Had an Affair with Our Dad" and distributing flyers detailing the affair, launching a second round of revenge. The other woman, whose wedding was canceled, sued the daughter for defamation. However, since the daughter was a minor under 19, she only received a "protective disposition."
Netizens who heard the story reacted with comments such as "The man who almost became the other woman's husband must have had ancestors helping him," "Refreshing revenge drama," "Having an affair and shamelessly trying to get married," "Those who cheat shouldn't get married," "How much the daughter must have suffered," "The wreath and flyers?best idea ever," "If she had gone as a guest, the congratulatory money wouldn't have been wasted," "With this level of event, there should be an admission fee," "Congratulations on exposing the affair," "Sometimes juvenile law is a blessing," and "Juvenile law is the best," showing a variety of responses.
