SSG.com to Relocate Headquarters from Gangnam to Yeongdeungpo in February Next Year

Moving After Over 2 Years... Part of Cost Reduction Efforts

Shinsegae Group's e-commerce platform SSG.com will relocate its headquarters from Gangnam to Yeongdeungpo in February next year.

According to the distribution industry on the 2nd, SSG.com announced internally on the same day that it will move its office to Yeongdeungpo in February next year. The new office building is the KB Yeongdeungpo Tower, a newly constructed building with 5 basement floors and 8 above-ground floors located at the Yeongdeungpo Market intersection. SSG.com will exclusively use the building together with its subsidiary, the online fashion platform W Concept.

KB Yeongdeungpo Tower is a newly completed building situated in a station area near Yeongdeungpo Station on Subway Line 1, Yeongdeungpo Market Station on Line 5, and Mullae Station on Line 2. It also has the advantage of being close to various lifestyle convenience facilities such as Shinsegae Department Store, E-Mart, and Times Square.

SSG.com, which was separated from E-Mart in 2018 to become an independent corporation, was located in Jongno Centropolis before moving its headquarters to Centerfield in Yeoksam-dong in July 2022 together with its subsidiary, the online fashion platform W Concept.

Since its establishment, SSG.com has not turned a profit and has been undergoing a business restructuring focused on profitability and intensive cost-cutting measures since last year. This office relocation is part of that process. The rent for the new Yeongdeungpo office is reported to be less than half of the current rent at Centerfield.

An SSG.com official said, "We decided to relocate the headquarters to overcome the crisis and ensure sustainable growth," adding, "We will thoroughly prepare during the remaining period to ensure there is no inconvenience to our employees."
