Namyangju-si, Hwado·Sudong 'Hakbumo Mirae Education Community' Academy Held

Namyangju-si, Hwado·Sudong 'Hakbumo Mirae Education Community' Academy Held Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is giving a greeting at the 'Future Education Community Academy' held at a cafe in Hwado-eup on the 30th of last month.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 2nd that it held the ‘Future Education Community Academy’ on the 30th of last month at a cafe located in Hwado-eup, targeting 55 executive members of parent associations from 20 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Hwado and Sudong areas.


This academy was organized to strengthen communication with parents and build a consensus on child education. It consisted of various programs including △ introduction of participants by school △ guidance on Namyangju City’s educational projects △ Human Book special lecture △ and a child education empathy talk.


The city provided a brief overview of educational projects and resolved parents’ questions about educational policies through a Q&A session between the staff and parents.


During the subsequent Human Book special lecture, parents had a healing time learning how to plant and care for succulents under the theme ‘My own know-how for growing succulents well.’


In particular, during the empathy talk session, Mayor Joo Gwang-deok attended and engaged in in-depth discussions with parents on △ child education △ improvement of the educational environment △ the role of parents △ and the direction of the city’s educational policies through a Q&A style communication.


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok emphasized, “As Jeong Yak-yong said, raising one person is like creating a whole world. Parents are already doing the great work of creating countless worlds. Namyangju City will do its best to provide educational conditions so that these great parents can provide excellent education.”


A parent who attended the academy said, “Thinking that I am creating the world of a single individual makes me feel even more responsible,” and added, “It was an opportunity to rethink the importance of the parental role.”


Meanwhile, the city plans to conclude this year’s regional Future Education Community Academy for parents by holding sessions in Pyeongnae and Hopyeong, and Jinjeop in October, and in Jingeon, Toegyewon, and Geumgok areas in November.
