Yangju-si to Conduct Mass Rabies Vaccination from 16th to 31st in the Second Half of the Year

Yangju-si to Conduct Mass Rabies Vaccination from 16th to 31st in the Second Half of the Year Yangju City will conduct the second half rabies mass vaccination at 15 animal hospitals in the city from the 16th to the 31st.

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 2nd that from the 16th to the 31st of this month, a rabies vaccination campaign will be conducted at 15 animal hospitals within the city.

Every year, rabies vaccination campaigns are held in the first and second halves of the year. During the campaign period, owners can bring dogs and cats eligible for rabies vaccination to animal hospitals within the city to receive the vaccine.

The city plans to deploy public veterinarians to conduct mobile vaccinations in suburban areas with limited access to animal hospitals, visiting towns, townships, and neighborhoods.

For information on the schedule and locations of the mobile vaccination, please contact the administrative welfare center of the respective town, township, or neighborhood.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, “Rabies is a zoonotic disease transmitted commonly to warm-blooded animals, including humans, through bites. Although it is fatal once contracted, it can be fully prevented through vaccination. Therefore, vaccination is important for the safety of citizens and the health of companion animals.” He added, “Especially for dogs raised outdoors, there is a possibility of contact with wild animals, so it is essential to ensure they are vaccinated.”
