The main contents of the previously prepared 1st tentative agreement included a basic salary increase of 112,000 KRW per month (including seniority pay), management performance bonus of 300% + 10 million KRW, Kia’s 80th anniversary celebration incentive of 100% + 2.8 million KRW, special performance incentive for maximum achievement of 100% + 5 million KRW, and traditional market gift certificates worth 200,000 KRW to revitalize the local economy. It also included the issuance of 57 free shares.

Additionally, it was agreed to hire 500 new engineers (production workers) by 2025. Kia explained that this aims to secure the company’s future sustainability in the mid to long term and to promote employment stability for employees.

Furthermore, the labor and management sides have adjusted the direct process allowances for assembly lines and other direct processes. This is to resolve the avoidance of direct processes in the assembly and service sectors. Welfare benefits encouraging childbirth have also been strengthened to address the socially critical issue of low birth rates.

In the vote on the 1st tentative agreement held on the 12th, the wage agreement was passed, but the collective agreement was rejected. Because of this, Kia labor and management have continued additional negotiations on the collective agreement.
