Promoting 'Green Finance', 'Mutual Growth Finance', and 'Right Finance' under Mid-to-Long-Term ESG Strategy

The K-ESG Management Awards are given to companies and organizations that have contributed to raising corporate value and spreading an innovative and sustainable management culture by practicing exemplary ESG management based on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's K-ESG guideline indicators, including environmental management (E), creation of social value (S), and securing sound governance (G).
BNK Financial Group was recognized for its efforts in leading ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management by closely cooperating with various stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, customers, and local communities, under the corporate mission of "Making finance convenient, enriching the future," and for promoting mutual growth.
In April, BNK Financial Group reestablished its mid- to long-term ESG strategy and is implementing detailed tasks across the organization in line with its three main strategic directions: 'Green Finance,' 'Coexistence Finance,' and 'Right Finance.' The 'Regional Coexistence ESG Promotion Committee,' which includes the CEOs of BNK Financial Holdings and its subsidiaries, plays a pivotal role in comprehensively establishing and executing the group's ESG management strategy.
In particular, as part of sustainable coexistence finance covering Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, the group has been operating the 'Crisis Overcoming Companion Project' to support self-employed individuals and vulnerable groups since August 2022, providing a total of 15.6 trillion KRW in support as of the first half of this year. In August, the group also adopted the 'Regional Coexistence Declaration' for regional economic revitalization and sustainable group growth, announcing a financial support plan worth 18.4 trillion KRW.
To build an ESG ecosystem in the southeastern region, BNK signed the nation's first 'Business Agreement for Full Financial Support for Carbon Reduction Technology Companies' with Busan City and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. The group also offers free ESG-related education to employees of small and medium-sized enterprises in the southeastern region, who face difficulties in obtaining ESG information compared to those in the capital area.
Additionally, to achieve the group's carbon neutrality goals, BNK developed both an 'ESG Data Platform' and a 'Financial Emissions Measurement System,' strengthening real-time monitoring such as systematic carbon emissions measurement. The group is also promoting various energy-saving activities, including operating eco-friendly buildings, transitioning to eco-friendly vehicles, and running eco-friendly management campaigns with employee participation.
