The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo) announced on the morning of the 2nd, through its official website, the implementation plan for the ‘2025 Public and Private Secondary School Teacher, Health, Librarian, Professional Counselor, Nutrition, and Special (Secondary) Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination,’ which will select 655 teachers for public and private secondary schools.
In this recruitment, public schools will hire a total of 540 teachers across 39 subjects, reflecting regular and honorary retirements: 470 secondary school teachers, 13 health (elementary), 12 health (secondary), 3 librarians, 18 professional counselors, 11 nutrition teachers, and 13 special (secondary) teachers.
For private schools, 46 foundations have entrusted the first round, and in some cases both the first and second rounds, of the examination, to select 115 teachers across 23 subjects.
Among the entrusted foundations, 14 have applied for the ‘Simultaneous Application System for Public and Private Schools.’ Accordingly, applicants for public school positions (first choice) may also apply to these private school foundations as their second choice if they wish.
The ‘Simultaneous Application System for Public and Private Schools,’ introduced in 2017, aims to resolve recruitment difficulties for private schools and expand applicants’ options.
Applications will be accepted online via the teacher recruitment system from 9 a.m. on October 14 to 6 p.m. on October 18. The first round of exams will be held on November 23, and successful candidates will be announced on December 26.
The second round of exams will take place over two days starting January 21 next year, and the practical evaluation, if applicable, will be conducted on January 15. The final list of successful candidates will be announced on February 11 next year.
The first round of the recruitment exam will cover education theory and major subjects, while the second round will include lesson planning, teaching demonstration, and in-depth interviews. For music, art, physical education, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and information/computer subjects, a separate practical evaluation will also be conducted.
