'Icheon Citizen's Day' Event Held on the 6th at Icheon Sports Complex

Ceremonies, Performances, and Sports Competitions Held

Gyeonggi-do Icheon City will hold the '29th Icheon Citizens' Day' event at Icheon Sports Complex on the 6th.

On this day, the pre-ceremony events include a military band performance by the Special Warfare Command based in Majang-myeon, the entrance of athlete teams from 14 eup, myeon, and dong, and performances by the Love Ran dance team and Kyung Hee University cheerleading squad.

At the commemorative ceremony, there will be a performance to pledge the establishment of Icheon Science High School, awards for meritorious citizens, the lighting of the torch, the appointment ceremony of singer Chu Hyuk-jin as an ambassador, congratulatory performances, and a celebratory flight by the Army Aviation Command. The city will also operate the 'Icheon Citizens Win-Win Market' at the venue, exhibiting and selling excellent products from local social economy enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses at discounted prices.

After the ceremony, a sports competition will be held with about 1,400 athletes participating from the 14 eup, myeon, and dong. The city plans to broadcast the entire event live through the YouTube channel 'Icheon City'.

Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "Icheon Citizens' Day is a precious festival created together by all citizens," adding, "I hope it will be a time for everyone to enjoy, communicate, and move forward together for the future of Icheon."
