Safety Training for 50 Facility Management Staff... Enhancing Emergency Response Skills and Raising Safety Awareness
The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education has launched safety training utilizing virtual reality (VR) to enhance workers' ability to respond to situations by providing indirect experiences of actual accident scenarios.
On the 30th of last month, the Office of Education conducted "On-site Virtual Reality (VR) Safety Training" for 50 facility management officials and staff at the seminar room of the Busan Education Research and Information Institute.
First introduced last year, the virtual reality training is regarded as effective in preventing safety accidents by offering workers repeated opportunities to indirectly experience hazardous situations without being restricted by physical environments such as location and time.
The training focused on accident cases that frequently occur in the field. Participants experienced various scenarios through virtual reality, including ▲logging operations (logging accident), ▲ladder work (fall accidents), and ▲confined space work (suffocation accidents).
Additionally, a specialist instructor from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency provided information on "Major Types of Accidents and Prevention Measures" and "The Three Principles of Absolute Safety."
The Busan Office of Education evaluates that this virtual reality training has produced tangible results by strengthening workers' ability to respond to emergencies and raising awareness of safety.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, stated, "To prevent safety accidents in the field, the Office of Education is implementing a variety of policies, including not only customized safety training for workers but also the provision of medical services and emergency first aid kits," adding, "Our office will take the lead in creating a safe working environment that field workers can truly feel."
