Korean Air Showcases Multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at Defense Exhibition

Korean Air announced that it will participate in the 2024 Korea International Defense Industry Exhibition held for five days from the 2nd at Gyeryongdae, Chungnam. The company stated that it will showcase its vision as a comprehensive system provider for military aircraft performance improvement, overhaul, and unmanned aerial vehicles at this exhibition.


At the exhibition hall, a full-scale model of the military helicopter UH-60, known as the 'Black Hawk,' along with medium-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles, AI cooperative unmanned vehicles, and small strike-type unmanned vehicles based on multiple rocket launchers will be displayed. Various unmanned vehicle platforms such as low-observable unmanned swarm vehicles and vertical takeoff and landing unmanned vehicles will also be showcased.

The company has performed overhaul and performance improvement on more than 5,000 Korea-US military aircraft since 1979. Currently, it is developing various unmanned vehicle platforms and participating in launch vehicle research and development. Since producing the UH-60, the main helicopter of the Korean military, domestically for the first time in 1991, it has been responsible for performance improvements and other tasks to this day.


Korean Air also participated in the development project of medium-altitude unmanned vehicles to be operated as strategic unmanned vehicles by the Korean military. Equipped with high-performance sensors, it can conduct continuous real-time surveillance and reconnaissance over the Korean Peninsula at an altitude of 10 to 13 km for 20 hours.
