Sonide AI exports 'Brainbot' to Kazakhstan... Signs supply contract with global defense companies

SonidAI, a subsidiary of Sonid, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 2nd that it has signed a supply contract for the on-device vision AI ‘BrainBot’ with global defense company DefenseGlobal (CEO Hong Jin-seong). DefenseGlobal plans to supply BrainBot to Kazakhstan.

With this contract, DefenseGlobal will collaborate in operating the ‘Korea-Kazakhstan Advanced Industry Exchange Special Pavilion Podium’ at KADEX 2024, the Korea International Defense Industry Exhibition starting today, and in the project to supply AI video analyzers to Kazakhstan.

In particular, at the time when the performance test of the initial batch is completed, a large-scale supply and local mass production project called the ‘Kazakhstan BrainBot Project’ is also underway. DefenseGlobal evaluated BrainBot as a high-performance product that can be widely applied to Kazakhstan’s SOC projects.

SonidAI’s AI video analyzer BrainBot can automatically detect specific situations or human behaviors in real time by analyzing video data through advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. When linked with general CCTV, it can enhance performance into an intelligent AI CCTV.

Intelligent AI CCTV is utilized in a wide range of fields including ▲illegal intrusion, theft, and other suspicious activity detection ▲facial recognition and traffic management ▲abnormal behavior detection ▲retail customer analysis ▲manufacturing and construction industry safety monitoring ▲healthcare and hospital safety. It is also expected to be applicable in medical imaging diagnostics targeting the future non-face-to-face medical market and natural disaster forecasting (such as floods).

SonidAI showcased BrainBot at the ‘5th Smart Construction Technology Briefing’ hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Urban Infrastructure Headquarters last April. This event was held to discover solutions for smart construction technology and national accident prevention and disaster response. SonidAI also participated in the 1st Smart Construction Technology Briefing held last year, presenting a ‘Safety Reconnaissance Robot Solution.’

A SonidAI official stated, “With the supply contract with DefenseGlobal, the BrainBot project, which has been promoted since February this year, is expected to get on track,” adding, “We will expand into domestic local governments and overseas markets in the future.”

Meanwhile, SonidAI changed its name from Sonid Robotics to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) competitiveness. It launched BrainBot earlier this year and entered the AI market. In particular, it formed a consortium with Professor Eom Hyun-sang’s team from Seoul National University’s Department of Computer Science and AI specialist company StarLabs, and is participating in the development of ‘CXL-GPU’ technology using Compute Express Link (CXL), a next-generation interface technology.
