Official Statement from Agency on Lip-syncing Allegations
Complaints Requesting Reconsideration of Busan Concert Appearance Amid Controversy
Singer Jang Yoon-jung recently addressed the lip-syncing controversy, stating, "I have never done lip-syncing where only my lips move while the track plays."
Jang Yoon-jung's agency, TN Entertainment, released an official statement on the 1st, explaining, "Many singers use live MR in performances that require choreography and other elements depending on the situation." They added, "Jang Yoon-jung also plays vocal tracks only for dance songs during events to engage with the audience while dancing, singing live over the backing track at a high volume." The agency continued, "It is true that sometimes she receives help when her condition is not good or when the on-site sound system is not perfect," but emphasized that she has never lip-synced.

The agency said, "It was a choice made to enrich the stage," and apologized to those who may have felt uncomfortable, asking for their understanding. They added, "Jang Yoon-jung always approaches every stage sincerely with gratitude," and promised, "As many people have loved Jang Yoon-jung's performances for a long time, both the agency and the artist will listen carefully to your voices and strive to create better stages."
Earlier, Jang Yoon-jung performed dance songs such as "Yeopjip Nuna" and "Saranga" at an event in Incheon last August, where some netizens raised suspicions of lip-syncing. Additionally, there were claims that she lip-synced at several previous performances. Due to these suspicions, it was reported that there was a petition requesting reconsideration of Jang Yoon-jung's appearance at the "Good Night Concert" scheduled for the 5th at Haeundae Beach in Busan.
Meanwhile, celebrating her 25th debut anniversary this year, Jang Yoon-jung is meeting fans through a nationwide tour. However, it is known that ticket sales have been sluggish, with hundreds of seats remaining for weekend performances. Regarding this, Jang Yoon-jung said on Instagram on the 27th of last month, "It's because my popularity is not what it used to be." She continued, "'I find the reason for all problems in myself' is something I often think and say," and added, "I do not believe the trot craze has died down, nor do I think ticket prices are the reason for the issue." She concluded, "The fewer the audience, the more I will make eye contact with each person and sing."
