Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the opening ceremony of the Myeonmok 7-dong Complex Building at 3 p.m. on September 30.

About 300 people attended the event, including Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu, members of the National Assembly, city and district councilors, and local residents. The ceremony proceeded in the following order: ▲pre-ceremony performance ▲screening of congratulatory videos and performances by residents ▲greetings ▲facility tour ▲cutting ceremony and commemorative photo session.

The newly opened Myeonmok 7-dong Complex Building is the first new government office building in 42 years. The existing Myeonmok 7-dong Community Service Center was built in 1980 and had become outdated and cramped, causing inconvenience to many residents.

Accordingly, residents continuously raised the need for a new building, and the district office reflected these voices by promoting the construction of the complex building.

The Myeonmok 7-dong Complex Building spans from two basement floors to four above-ground floors, with a total budget of 25.5 billion KRW. Construction began in July 2022, was completed in August this year, and full operation started on September 23.

This building was designed as a multifunctional space to enhance residents' convenience and allow them to enjoy various cultural activities. It consists of ▲basement floors 1 and 2 parking lot (22 spaces) ▲1st floor community service center ▲2nd floor auditorium ▲3rd floor Jungnang Youth Culture and Arts Creation Center ▲4th floor small library and autonomous community program rooms.

In particular, the Jungnang Youth Culture and Arts Creation Center operates 16 programs, including webtoon, art, and theater career experience programs, as well as Saturday art schools in film, music, dance, and crafts. These programs are linked with the free semester system of local middle schools, providing youth with practical opportunities to experience the arts.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope that the newly constructed complex building will become a space where residents from young children to the elderly can use and communicate together,” adding, “We will strive to provide improved administration and welfare services in this resident-centered space.”
