Seongsu Nanum Sharing Center 3rd Floor, Fifth 'Toy World' Opening Following Mujigae, Geumho, Wangsimni, and Oksu Toy Worlds, Open Tue-Sat 10 AM - 7 PM, Lending 1 Toy or 3 Books per Child for up to 2 Weeks
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that on September 27, the fifth "Jangnangam Sesang" (Toy World) was opened on the 3rd floor of Seongsu Nanum Sharing Center (101 Wangsimni-ro) to provide toy and book rental services to families with infants and toddlers.
Toys play an important role in promoting the growth of children during the sensory development stage of infancy and early childhood, but purchasing new toys for each developmental stage can be a significant burden.
Accordingly, the district opened an additional "Seongsu Jangnangam Sesang" to reduce the economic burden on families with young children, offering rental services for toys, childcare products, and books tailored to the child's growth stages.
"Seongsu Jangnangam Sesang" operates as a warehouse-style toy rental center where desired toys can be reserved in advance and rented through the Seongdong-gu Jangnangam Sesang website (homepage).
The service is available from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and operates on a membership basis (annual fee of 10,000 KRW). Each child can rent one toy or up to three books for a maximum of two weeks.
In addition to the newly opened "Seongsu Jangnangam Sesang," Seongdong-gu currently operates four Jangnangam Sesang locations: Mujigae Jangnangam Sesang (Basement 1, Seongdong-gu Office), Geumho Jangnangam Sesang (4th floor, Geumho 2·3-ga Community Center), Wangsimni Jangnangam Sesang (2nd floor, Wangsimni Church), and Oksu Jangnangam Sesang (3rd floor, Malgeunsaem Daycare Center), with an average monthly user count of about 800.
Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "I hope 'Jangnangam Sesang' will greatly contribute to the emotional development of infants and toddlers and help alleviate the economic burden on families. We will continue to actively gather parents' opinions to provide high-quality childcare services and make Seongdong a great place to have and raise children."
