The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency signed an MOU with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 30th of last month.
The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technological exchange and cooperation with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The agency announced on the 2nd that following the visit of the UAE economic delegation to Pangyo Techno Valley last November to discuss cooperation measures, it pledged cooperation with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 30th of last month to promote the growth of the startup ecosystem.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ providing opportunities for SMEs and tech companies on both sides to enter the Korean and UAE markets ▲ expanding cooperation in areas such as ESG, smart cities, digital, and bio sectors ▲ promoting the growth of the startup ecosystems on both sides through technology exchange, acceleration programs, and support for expanding overseas markets.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1965, is a non-profit organization with over 210,000 member companies, providing various support services. Its main activities include improving the Dubai business environment, attracting international business and investment, and fostering digital economic growth.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, emphasized, "Dubai is a highly open region with great receptivity to advanced technology and a willingness to invest in the future, making it a region to watch for our companies’ overseas market expansion. Through this MOU, we will strive to achieve tangible results such as overseas market development and technological cooperation."
According to this agreement, the agency and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold a webinar on the 22nd to introduce overseas expansion support programs targeting SMEs, tech companies, and startups in Gyeonggi-do aiming to enter the Middle Eastern market centered on the UAE.
