Lotte-NC Changwon Final Game Sold Out
Pro Baseball Attendance Surpasses 10 Million
Lotte Foreign Player Sets New Record with 202 Hits
The all-time blockbuster All Pro Baseball continued to set new records even in the final game of the season.
On the 1st, the final game of the 2024 KBO League regular season between the Lotte Giants and NC Dinos was held at Changwon NC Park, where all 17,089 seats were sold out around 2 p.m., about three hours before the game started. As a result, the total attendance for the 2024 KBO League reached 10,887,705, marking the first time in 43 years since its inception that it surpassed 10 million. This is an increase of 2.4 million spectators compared to the previous highest attendance record set in the 2017 season (8,406,880). Out of a total of 720 games, 221 were sold out, nearly doubling the previous record of 113 sold-out games set in 2012 when there were only eight teams. Notably, six teams?LG, Samsung, Doosan, KIA, Lotte Giants, and SSG Landers?also achieved a new milestone by surpassing one million spectators each.
On this day, Lotte Giants' foreign hitter Victor Reyes recorded his 201st and 202nd hits consecutively. With this, Reyes broke the KBO League single-season hit record of 201 hits set by Seo Geon-chang (currently with KIA Tigers) in 2014.
