"Every Night Screams from Noise and Fireworks... Can't Live Because of Upstairs BJ"

Famous BJ Broadcasts Every Night... Even Sets Off Fireworks
Expresses Displeasure Saying "Seems Too Sensitive" When Complained

A story has emerged about an apartment resident suffering from noise complaints caused by a famous internet broadcaster (BJ) living upstairs.

On the 30th, JTBC’s ‘Case Manager’ aired the claim of informant A, who has been tormented by noise from the upstairs neighbors since moving into an apartment in January.

According to the video, A heard noise from upstairs starting from the first night after moving into the current apartment. At first, A thought it was just children shouting and running around and tried to overlook it.

However, the noise continued for several days. Eventually, A even left a note on the upstairs door saying “Let’s live quietly,” but nothing changed.

One day, while at home, A was startled by screams from upstairs and called the police. Later, the police informed A that there were no children upstairs, but two women conducting internet broadcasts. The noise was caused by the BJs shouting whenever they danced and received donations.

The video showed footage from the BJ’s actual broadcast, where several women gathered to broadcast and dance. One woman even set off fireworks.

In response to A’s request to “refrain from making noise late at night,” the women replied, “We are trying to be quiet, and we have installed soundproofing on the floor. We will also adjust our broadcast hours.” Nevertheless, A claimed the noise continued.

When A contacted them again via KakaoTalk message saying, “Stop stomping. Why do I have to keep suffering?” the women responded, “We never stomped. This seems to cross the line. We feel uncomfortable with aggressive messages. You seem too sensitive.” They even retorted, “You’re not even the owner of the entire building, so tone it down. How about moving to a detached house?”

The BJ stated through a live broadcast, “Due to the resident’s request, we now broadcast only from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. We spent a large sum on soundproofing even in areas not used for broadcasting, but we still received noise complaints outside of broadcast hours.”

Attorney Yang Ji-yeol, who reviewed the case, said, “If the situation shown in the video is actually happening in the informant’s upstairs unit, it is problematic,” and pointed out, “Since this is a commercial activity, it should not be conducted in a regular residential building.”
