Sweeping National Award, Gyeonggi Province Governor Award, and Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Promotion Institute Director Award
The exterior of the Gyeonggi Future Education Paju Campus building where the '2024 Gyeonggi-do Literacy Month Poetry and Painting Exhibition and Awards Ceremony' was held. Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 30th that a total of 42 learners received awards including the National Award, the Gyeonggi Governor's Award, and the Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Promotion Agency Director's Award at the '2024 Gyeonggi Literacy Month Poetry and Painting Exhibition and Awards Ceremony' held on the 26th at the Gyeonggi Future Education Paju Campus.
Under the theme "Literacy, the Whole World Approaches," this event was organized to share the achievements of literacy education this year and to celebrate the joy of winning the poetry and painting exhibition awards.
In particular, Mr. Kim, a senior at Nopbit Hope School in Goyang City Hall, expressed his overwhelming and excited feelings about attending school at the age of 68 through his work titled "Mom, I'm Going to School," winning the Geulareum Award.
Goyang City operates a total of 27 literacy classrooms, including academic recognition courses, with about 400 late learners passionately pursuing their studies.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, "I express my deep respect and congratulations for the passion and achievements of our seniors in learning, and we will continue to provide ongoing interest and support."
