Goyang City Choir Hosts 'Romantic Goyang's Favorite Autumn Songs'

The 77th regular concert of the Goyang City Choir (conductor Kim Jong-hyun), a cultural and artistic group representing Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan), titled "Romantic Goyang's Autumn Favorite Songs," will be held on October 17th at 7:30 PM at the Goyang Aram Nuri Aram Music Hall.

According to Goyang Special City on the 30th, this performance is the second regular concert with permanent conductor Kim Jong-hyun, showcasing a variety of beloved choral masterpieces representing Korean choral music, along with favorite songs and popular tunes that capture the deepening autumn atmosphere.

The first part of the concert features carefully selected works by master composers representing the domestic choral scene, allowing the audience to fully experience the charm of choral music. From "Ah, Is It Autumn?" newly reborn through arrangement by Ahn Hyo-young, to Jeon Kyung-sook's , Woo Hyo-won's , Oh Byung-hee's "Eorang," which captures the beauty of Hamgyeong-do folk songs, Bae Dong-jin's "Sayuninkok," and Jo Hye-young's "Ganggangsullae," the concert presents the true essence of Korean choral music in various forms.

In the second part, beloved favorite songs and popular tunes that have been loved by many for a long time will be newly performed in choral arrangements, with a special collaboration by the Lafuse Players group performing as a string quintet, adding richness to the performance.

From "Singing Cosmos," themed on the autumn symbol cosmos, to familiar songs well-suited for autumn nights such as "Gagopa," "Longing for Geumgangsan," "Autumn Letter," and "On a Wonderful Day in October," the concert promises to offer the audience a deeply moving and empathetic experience, creating a meaningful time.

The Goyang City Choir, praised by experts for its outstanding performance skills and high musical completeness, not only raises interest in choral music within the local community but also continues communication with citizens through sincere performances.
