Mayor Lee, during his congratulatory speech at the ‘28th Senior Citizens' Day Commemorative Event’ hosted by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Hanam Branch held in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of the city hall annex, stated, “We plan to implement a project in the first half of next year to support annual transportation costs (for metropolitan, city, and village buses within the jurisdiction) for seniors aged 70 and above.”

He also emphasized, “To promote the health of the elderly, we are creating barefoot walking paths such as the Misa Hangang sand trail and the loess trail, and are carrying out various projects including daily care assistance through the AI health management robot Hanami.”

Hanam City is promoting various policy projects under the motto ‘Hanam City where the elderly are happy.’

To support the economic activities of seniors, the number of participants in the senior job project has been expanded to 2,259, an increase of 237 from last year, with a corresponding budget of 10.7 billion KRW allocated. Additionally, a budget of 4.57 billion KRW has been secured to support the operation and functional reinforcement projects of senior centers, which serve as resting places for the elderly. This is an increase of 530 million KRW compared to the previous year.

Furthermore, various projects such as free use support for the physical therapy room at the senior welfare center are being promoted.

Mayor Lee stated, “Thanks to the seniors here, our country has grown into the world’s 13th largest economy, but compared to the country's growth, many seniors face economic difficulties and often express emotional loneliness.
