Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 30th that it conducted the 'Children First, Child Traffic Safety Campaign' on the 27th to ensure children's traffic safety.
This campaign took place at the main gate of Chusan Elementary School in Songuri during the time elementary students were arriving at school. About 50 participants from the Pocheon City Traffic Administration Division, Pocheon Police Station Traffic Division, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Pocheon City Traffic Order Promotion Committee, and Model Drivers Association took part.
Under the slogan "Stop first at the crosswalk, let the children go first," the campaign encouraged drivers to practice considerate driving so that children walking in school zones can cross safely. It actively promoted adherence to safe driving rules through banners, pamphlets, and promotional materials.
A city official stated, "We hope this campaign will strengthen drivers' awareness of traffic safety on roads within school zones," and added, "We will do our best to establish a traffic safety culture that considers children in the future."
