The 8th World Military Look Festival, held in Yeoncheon and Dongducheon in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), will feature the Army Honor Guard of the Ground Operations Command (hereinafter referred to as GOC).
According to Yeoncheon County on the 30th, the 8th World Military Look Festival, which will be held for two days from October 12 to 13 at the Jeongok-ri Historic Site in Yeoncheon, is hosted and organized by the World Military Look Festival Central Association and supported by Yeoncheon County, Yeoncheon County Council, Dongducheon City, Dongducheon City Council, and the Northern Gyeonggi Veterans Affairs Office. It is a military cultural festival.
In particular, at this military cultural festival, the GOC Army Honor Guard will visit Yeoncheon County to perform an honor guard demonstration to comfort and encourage the citizens of Yeoncheon, who have sacrificed for national security for over 70 years, as well as frontline military personnel. It is expected that many visitors from across the country will attend.
Moreover, the festival will feature a Taekwondo breaking demonstration by the 1st Corps Headquarters Taekwondo Demonstration Team, special martial arts demonstrations by the 28th Infantry Division, equipment exhibitions, performances by the 5th Infantry Division military band, and talent shows by military personnel, promising a military cultural festival befitting the frontline Yeoncheon area.
Notably, this military cultural festival holds special significance with the participation of 25 people, including descendants of Korean War veterans, the president of the Korean War Veterans Commemoration Association, and the chairman of the Korea Neulsarang Association. Former and current division commanders, chiefs of staff, various officers, and brigade sergeant majors will also participate, adding brilliance to the military cultural event.
A Yeoncheon County official stated, “With a sense of mission to lead the development of national security and military culture festivals in the Republic of Korea, we have prepared with utmost effort, and we hope that both military personnel and visitors will enjoy exciting content.”
