'Advanced Food Comprehensive Design Lab' Established at Miryang Campus Life Resources Science Hall
State-of-the-art Classroom with Video Distribution System and Electronic Whiteboard, Student-led Classes
Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) was selected for the Advanced Lecture Room Support Project sponsored by the Ottogi Ham Taeho Foundation, and invested 150 million KRW to establish an advanced lecture room at the Miryang Campus, holding a plaque unveiling ceremony on the 30th.
Busan National University holds a plaque ceremony for the advanced lecture room supported by the Ottogi Ham Taeho Foundation.
The Ottogi Ham Taeho Foundation supports educational institutions by helping to upgrade existing lecture rooms into advanced lecture rooms, and is carrying out projects to create classrooms equipped for the use of various multimedia materials, discussions, and remote video education.
With this selection, Pusan National University remodeled three existing small lecture rooms in the Life Resources Science Building at the Miryang Campus into a medium-sized lecture room, named it the "Food Advanced Integrated Design Room," and introduced it for the first time that morning.
The newly established Food Advanced Integrated Design Room is a state-of-the-art classroom equipped with a video distribution system for smooth discussion-based classes, a 98-inch electronic whiteboard, high-definition faculty and student tracking camera system, high-quality audio system, and movable desks and chairs, enabling problem-based learning and student-led classes as well as lectures.
This classroom is designed to be used for various courses tailored to the characteristics of subjects such as capstone design, project-based, and problem-based learning for students of the Department of Food Engineering at the College of Life Resources Science. It allows students to assess their own academic achievements through team activities or individual learning. The learning environment is student-centered, moving away from traditional one-way teaching and focusing on active student participation and practical problem-solving.
Through this, students will have the opportunity to directly check their learning outcomes and experience growth by solving assigned tasks or carrying out projects during the course.
In his welcoming speech, President Choi Jaewon said, "Thanks to the support of the Ottogi Ham Taeho Foundation, the Department of Food Engineering at Pusan National University now has a higher-level educational environment. Since 2012, the foundation's continuous interest and support, including funding for major book purchases and the establishment of this advanced lecture room, have greatly contributed not only to academic development but also to the growth and future of our students," and added, "I am confident that such support will serve as a foundation for students' academic passion and creative challenges."
Ham Youngjun, Chairman of the Ottogi Ham Taeho Foundation, responded, "I hope that the advanced lecture room established through this project will help students of the Department of Food Engineering at Pusan National University develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills by collaborating and solving problems through various experiences, and grow into outstanding talents in the global food engineering field with strengths in international communication."
