This unannounced emergency rescue control team activation drill was planned to strengthen the fire department's response capabilities for complex and diverse disaster situations.
The drill assumed a scenario where an unknown explosion fire caused multiple casualties at the Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and was conducted realistically following actual disaster response procedures.
The drill was conducted concurrently with the evaluation by the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and the fire department's ability to handle sudden messages was also checked.
The main evaluation items included ▲inspection of the first response team and command team activities ▲inspection of the emergency rescue control team activation status ▲first response team leader's situation report and initial response capability ▲appropriateness of fire suppression and life rescue ▲appropriateness of the on-site command post, emergency medical post, and press briefing location ▲and the press briefing.
Go Young-ju, chief of Suwon Nambu Fire Station, stated, "Through this evaluation, we will strengthen our initial response capabilities to disasters and do our best to protect citizens' safety and property by establishing a mutual cooperation system among emergency rescue support agencies."
