Guri-si 2024 Youth Week, Filled with the Passion of Young People Guri City has been hosting the '2024 Guri City Youth Week' event from the 21st to the 26th to commemorate 'Youth Day.'

The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 30th that the '2024 Guri Youth Week' event, held from the 21st to the 26th to commemorate the legal holiday 'Youth Day,' was successfully concluded.


This Youth Week was an event planned and operated directly by a youth planning team led by young entrepreneurs in Guri, consisting of customized programs tailored to the interests of the youth demographic.


The programs included ▲healing horseback riding ▲presentation speech ▲dance ▲hand-drip coffee making ▲youth health futsal class ▲finding your own personal color ▲paper flower making ▲relax body stretching ▲wooden stool object making ▲pottery making through painting ▲night hiking, offering various experiences that provided a time for recharging to young people tired from job searching activities.


Also, on the first day of Youth Week, the 21st, the 'Cooperation and Challenge Toward the Future of Youth, Guri Youth Leaders Meeting' was held, where Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun, Jang Su-ung, head of the Youth Tomorrow Center, and about 30 local youths including members of the Guri Youth Governance (Youth Policy Coordination Committee, Youth Council) participated to communicate and build consensus on youth issues.


The first part of the meeting involved proposing youth policies and listening to and empathizing with the stories of young entrepreneurs' startups, while the second part discussed various opinions on youth employment and startup support policies, the current situation of 'resting youth,' and the role and participation of youth governance, seeking directions for youth development within the local community.


In particular, it was evaluated that the event provided an opportunity to activate networking among youth and further strengthen cooperation and solidarity.


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, "This Youth Week will be remembered as a precious time when our local youth could voice their opinions and communicate freely," adding, "We will continue to listen to the voices of youth and do our best to support their dreams and challenges."
