Discussion on Efficient Operation of Corporate Governance

Deloitte Korea Group announced on the 30th that it will hold the ‘2024 Deloitte Korea Group Corporate Governance Development Center Webinar’ on Tuesday, November 5, targeting outside directors, audit committee members, and C-level executives of publicly listed companies in Korea. This webinar is organized to discuss the efficient operation of corporate governance and the direction of disclosure supervision, and it will be offered free of charge.
This webinar is a follow-up event to the ‘2024 Boardroom Skills Enhancement Program,’ aiming to strengthen the roles of the board of directors and audit committees. Deloitte Korea Group plans to present practical milestones through the participation of advisory committee members of the Corporate Governance Development Center and its own experts.
In particular, the webinar will consist of four sessions, each covering various topics related to corporate governance. In the first session, Professor Yoo Seung-won from Korea University Business School will conduct an in-depth discussion on ‘Management Indicators and ESG Disclosure.’ Professor Yoo will emphasize the importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) disclosure and its impact on corporate value evaluation, explaining the role of faithful management indicators.
In the second session, Professor Noh Jun-hwa from Chungnam National University’s Department of Business Administration will give a lecture on ‘The Role of Outside Directors in Disclosure.’ Based on his experience, Professor Noh will discuss the specific roles and responsibilities that outside directors must perform within the board for effective disclosure supervision.
In the third session, Oh Jung-hoon, Partner of the Audit Division at Deloitte Korea Group, will present on ‘Improvement Measures for Corporate Governance Report Disclosure and the Current Status of Global Board Disclosure Supervision.’ He plans to explain the current status of disclosure supervision aligned with global standards and ways to enhance transparency in corporate governance through this.
In the final session, Jang Jun-ho, Partner of the Integrated Financial Services Group at Deloitte Korea Group, will lecture on ‘Disclosure of Corporate Value-Up Programs and the Role of the Board.’ Partner Jang will emphasize the roles and responsibilities the board must undertake in the strategy formulation and implementation process to enhance corporate value, proposing directions for effective disclosure supervision.
Kim Han-seok, Head of the Corporate Governance Center at Deloitte Korea Group, stated, “This webinar focuses on enabling outside directors and audit committee members to grasp the latest disclosure trends and strengthen corporate governance through effective disclosure supervision,” adding, “We have prepared useful information that participants can directly apply in practice.”
