Weisen Signs Joint Research Agreement with Israel Sheba Medical Center

Weisen announced on the 30th that it has signed a joint medical imaging research agreement with Israel's Sheba Medical Center.

Founded in 1948, Sheba Medical Center is a general hospital with 1,619 beds and is recognized as a prestigious medical institution ranked within the top 10 best hospitals worldwide for three consecutive years by the U.S. Newsweek. Sheba Medical Center has fully digitized all its data and is known to possess substantial medical imaging data, as it serves over one million patients annually, including 200,000 emergency visits.


Through this agreement, Weisen and Sheba Medical Center aim to jointly research AI-based medical imaging and further develop medical AI services for the diagnosis and prognosis prediction of gastrointestinal cancer.


Eyal Zimlichman, Chief Innovation Officer of Sheba Medical Center, stated, “Sheba Medical Center is deeply committed to advancing medical technology through innovative technologies for the future,” and added, “We highly value Weisen’s core technology of real-time image analysis and its global commercialization capabilities, which led us to pursue this joint research agreement.” Kim Kyungnam, CEO of Weisen, also said, “Collaboration with Sheba Medical Center, one of the world’s top medical institutions, will be a significant milestone for Weisen’s medical AI solution research and development,” and emphasized, “We will actively utilize this joint research opportunity to lead the global medical market with domestic medical AI technology.”
