Starting from the 25th of next month, Humanities Liberal Arts Lectures at Haenuri Town
300 Participants per Lecture Accepted on a First-Come, First-Served Basis via the 'Lifelong Learning Portal'
Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 30th that it will operate a high-quality liberal arts lecture series, "Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch," taught by professors from Seoul National University, for 8 weeks starting from the end of October at Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town.
Last year, the district signed a "Business Agreement for the Promotion and Revitalization of Lifelong Education" with the Seoul National University Lifelong Education Institute and operated the humanities relay lecture series "Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch," composed of expert lecturers from various fields, which received great response with about 1,000 attendees over 6 sessions.
This time, the "Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch" will increase the number of sessions by 2, covering a wider range of topics including architecture, music, art, health, and education, and will be held over 8 sessions from October 25 to December 13.
The lecture topics include ▲ A House That Holds My Heart ▲ A Classical Music Class Like Never Before ▲ The Artistic World of Francisco Goya ▲ Maintaining Mental Health in Middle Age ▲ The Ecology of Walking ▲ Women in the Haitian Revolution ▲ Developing Our Children's Literacy Through Proper Reading Habits ▲ Mysterious Harmful Substances in Daily Life.
Any interested residents can attend free of charge, with each session accommodating 300 people and lasting 90 minutes. Residents wishing to enroll can apply online through the Yangcheon-gu "Lifelong Learning Portal" website or inquire at the Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, "As we welcome the season of knowledge, autumn, we have prepared a high-quality lifelong learning special lecture befitting the status of 'Happy Education City Yangcheon,' and we hope many residents will show interest and participate."
