Seocho-gu, Seoul, announced on the 30th that 200,000 citizens attended the '2024 Seoripul Festival,' which heated up the 10-lane Banpo-daero last weekend (28th-29th).
This year's Seoripul Festival was held under the theme 'Seocho is the Music A-Z' (Everything about Music). The opening performance featured a grand classical concert by the Seocho Symphony Orchestra and Seocho Orchestra Academy, along with a collaboration with violinist Park Su-ye and the traditional Korean music ensemble SG FOREST. Following this, singers John Park, Jung In, and Jung Hoon-hee performed.
At the closing performance on the 29th, singers Paul Kim, Davichi, Heritage Mass Choir, and Jannabi passionately took the stage, culminating the festival with a 7-minute fireworks display decorating the night sky over Banpo-daero.
Representatives from overseas sister cities, including a jazz singer from Paris 15th arrondissement, France, delegations from Kingston, UK, and Irvine, USA, also visited and enjoyed the festival.
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “I am pleased that 200,000 citizens created joyful memories from morning till night at this year’s Seoripul Festival,” adding, “We will return next year with even richer music and cultural performances.”
